Mrs. Lauren Besler
Welcome WHES Tornadoes! My name is Lauren Besler, and I am the Math Instructional Coach for Woodmen Hills Elementary. I will be working with students and teachers in grades K-5 to support math instruction and learning.
This will be my 20th year in education! In addition to teaching Kindergarten here at WHES, I taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades at Lewis Palmer Elementary in Monument, Colorado. My teaching experience also includes 3 years at Academy Charter School in Castle Rock, Colorado. During my time there I taught K-6 Technology as well as a 7th/8th grade math class.
I absolutely love Colorado! I am a native who graduated from Doherty High School. After graduating, I went to Mesa State College (now known as Colorado Mesa University) in Grand Junction on a golf scholarship. I went on to earn my Elementary Education degree with a minor in mathematics. My father was a math teacher for 30 years so I always tell people that I was born into a math family!
My two children attend school here in the Falcon Zone. We love spending time outdoors! Whether it's golfing, swimming, playing volleyball or just playing in the backyard with our two dogs, we spend as much time as we can soaking up the Colorado sunshine!
I am looking forward to the school year and being a part of your child's educational journey in math!
