As part of managing 3B (2016) projects across District 49, an owner's representative was hired to assist the district in facilitating effective project oversight, contractor relationships, communication and reporting. Each month, Wember Inc. provides reports on the status of 3B projects. The purpose of these updates is to report on the current status of projects and serve as a summary of pertinent information related to projects up to report release.

Reports contain contracts if they have been encumbered through a purchase order process. Contracts still in process are not shown. The latest reports show a focus of the work taking place during the second semester of the 2017-2018 school year to the beginning of the 2018- 2019 school year.

The start of school year 2018-19 will see the grand opening of a new elementary school in the Falcon Zone in addition to the completion of multiple large-scale facility upgrades and improvements.

The reports show significant progress on the construction-based priorities identified by the 3B ballot measure:

Priority 4  - New Schools

• Bennett Ranch Elementary School welcomed students and staff for the first day of school, meeting a beginning of the year (18-19) goal.

• Significant work is already underway on a second new elementary school that will serve the Banning Lewis Ranch neighborhood scheduled to open in August 2019.

Priority 3  - High School Remodels and Additions

• A new academic wing at Falcon High School opened doors for the first day of school (18-19)  

• Crews are installing drywall and working on painting the new performing arts space at Vista Ridge High School through July as gym flooring also goes in at VRHS. Construction of a classroom addition is scheduled to wrap by the middle of August with the gym and theater to follow.

• Multiple additions prioritized by Phase 1 and Phase 2 including the field house at Sand Creek High School are complete. Phase 3 work wrapped at SCHS on a Prototype Lab and Cafeteria Commons by the beginning of SY (18-19).

Priority 2  - Refresh and Refurbish Existing Schools

• Work on three-quarters of the identified projects is scheduled to wrap up by the fall of 2018.

• Almost 60 projects are underway across the district at various existing schools at the start of SY 18-19. Every school with the exception of Springs Studio for Academic Excellence will have at least one project finished by the end of summer.

Projects will be organized and planned for the upcoming months of 2018. Work will be scheduled during major breaks in the school year, such as the two-week fall, Christmas and spring breaks.
