• WHAT IS RESTORATIVE PRACTICES (RP)?

    BRIGHT logo

Restorative practices focus on building, maintaining and repairing relationships among all members of the school community. Unlike restorative justice, the goal of restorative practices is to provide a culture of empathy and acceptance, and to prevent damage from happening. It does not remove discipline or consequences, but rather works to restore relationships among the doer of harm, and the individual who received it.

Currently, our D49 team has hundreds of staff members trained, as well as nearly 30 available trainers. As part of the culture and services family, BRIGHT is ready to assist our buildings, departments, students and community.

Keep an eye on the event calendar on the homepage for upcoming RP events to learn more.
