Work-based learning ranges from short-term experiences like workplace tours, guest speakers, and job shadows to more sustained activities like internships and pre-apprenticeships.

Learning About Work
-
Career & Success Advising
Our district focuses on ICAP - Individual Career & Academic Plan. To provide adequate guidance to our students. Our Choice & Success Advisors engage in ICAP conversations, collaborating with students to discern a personalized career and academic pathway. This tailored approach ensures that students receive comprehensive support in their individualized journey towards success. -
Mentorship
A form of experiential learning that applies knowledge and skills in real-world environments to develop career and college readiness.
-
Career Presentations
Students listen to a presentation to learn about the speaker’s career, business or organization, and industry, and ask questions to help them consider whether they want to pursue a career in the industry. Interested in being a Career Presenter? Click here
-
Industry Speakers
Industry partners who present at school sites or in classrooms with a group of students. Industry Speakers address direct questions from students about college and career opportunities and employee expectations and provide examples of the skills and abilities needed in industry. Interested in being an Industry Speaker? Click here.
-
Career Site Visits
A site visit allows a class to leave the classroom to see class-related experiences away from the school campus. This short-term visit to a business or agency expands the learning opportunities for participating students. The field trip allows students to observe and investigate activities related to a specific subject and career development objective. It extends the learning environment beyond the school facility, thus emphasizing the relationship between school and work. Interested in hosting a Site Visit? Click here.
-
Career Fairs
A job fair also referred to commonly as a career fair or career expo, is speed dating for companies and professional job seekers. A job fair is an event where employers, recruiters, and schools inform potential employees and learn about available career opportunities. Want to be a part of our Career Fairs? Click here.
