During the 2021-2022 school year D49 supported The American Heart Association and The Kids Heart Challenge.
- Nine schools participated in Kids Heart Challenge, and 1 school participated in American Heart Challenge for the first time ever.
- Nearly, 5,300 students and families received heart healthy information.
- 849 students took a heart healthy challenge and learned about the importance of physical activity, nutrition, and living tobacco free. This is 401 more students than last year.
- 94 students completed Finn’s Mission, and learned about the warning signs of stroke, hands-only CPR, and moved for 150 minutes as a family. This is an average of 9 students per school and last year’s national average was 4 per school! District 49 DOUBLED that!
