  • The Advanced Placement course in United States Government and Politics is designed to give students a critical perspective on politics and government. This course involves both the study of general concepts used to interpret United States politics and an examination of the various institutions, groups, beliefs, and ideas that make up American politics. To reach the highest level of understanding, students are encouraged to accelerate their learning by exploring their curiosities by digging deeper into the course through inquiry, reflective thinking and writing. They are encouraged to tie in topics of interest to other disciplines and include those findings in their content specific assignment. Preparation for the AP test will be an integral part of the course.

    This course satisfies the American Government and Economics requirement for seniors.
