Grading
● Grades do not show up in PowerSchool. Parents should look at the SchoolsPLP platform to see their student’s grades and progress in the class.
● The courses follow traditional grading practices. Anything 69% or lower is failing in keeping with Falcon’s requirement that passing be a C or higher.
● The course will give you suggested completion dates for your assignments. You should complete assignments as suggested. Every week, teachers will put zeros into the gradebook for overdue assignments. You can still do them, but you need to understand the grade you are earning if you do not. Students have been confused in the past thinking that they had an A or B when they had only completed 20% of the class, and truly had an “F.” In order to gain credit, a student must have BOTH: 100% completion AND a grade of 70% or higher.
● Assignments/Assessments can be reset by the teacher, but you must meet their qualifications to get an assignment reset. In order for a test to be reset, the student must pass the pretest with a 70% or better.
● Final exams are required, even if a student has an A, and does not override the earned grade on all assignments and quizzes.
SPED/504 SupportStudents with an IEP or 504 have preset accommodations within SchoolsPLP. If you have specific questions please contact the teacher or Ms. Dzierbicki with questions.
Teacher availabilityTeachers will be available Monday through Thursday via email and Zoom between 8 and 11 am. Students may request that they meet with their teacher in person on Monday. Appointments should be made the week prior to guarantee availability. Staff are NOT in the building daily. Students that come to the school outside of an appointment on Monday, will be sent home.
Deadline for course completion.
Classes will be closed at 3pm on June 19th. Any incomplete work will be assigned a zero at that time. Grades will be finalized by June 20th, 2024.
