Welcome MRES families!

My name is Kayla Chopp, and I will be your child's fourth-grade teacher this year. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University. This will be my sixth year of teaching and my third year of teaching at MRES. I look forward to incorporating my unique teaching experiences into the classroom in order to personalize lessons for your child. My first year of teaching was in second-grade in Dallas, Texas. After teaching second-grade, I spent two years teaching online with a company called VIPKID. 

My hobbies include crocheting, hiking, rock climbing, reading, and cooking with my husband. My husband and I have been married for four years, and he is my best friend! We have a sweet little rescue dog named Masha, who your children will hear about constantly! My friends and family mean the world to me.

Teaching is my true passion, and I will foster my students' love for learning through patience, encouragement, and consistency. I will encourage students to embrace their creativity and curiosity while maintaining high academic standards in the classroom. It is an honor to teach your children, and I believe it is essential to develop strong relationships throughout the school year to create a positive learning atmosphere.
