Hi!  My name is Laura Anderson and I am excited about starting my 8th year at Meridian Ranch Elementary School!  

 I was born and raised in Wisconsin.  I attended school from kindergarten through my college degree there. ( GO BADGERS!)  In the beginning, I was a student who would have loved to just stay home, not because I didn't love learning, just because I wanted to be with my mom.  I cried throughout my early years until hitting 3rd grade, where I had "that teacher," the one who opened my eyes to the power not only of learning, but to taking the initiative to foster it on my own.  From that point on, learning only became more amazing and I knew I had to share that with others, both children and adults, for the rest of my life.

 This is my 23rd year teaching.  My husband's job has offered our family the opportunity to move to new areas.  Because of this, I have had the privilege of teaching in a variety of locations, including Wisconsin, Ohio, Washington, and now, Colorado.  Each of these districts and schools has offered me unique experiences with a wide range of students and families.  

Beyond teaching, there is so much more to me!  I have been married since 2002 and have three amazing kids, Evelyn (sophomore at CSU), Hazel (senior at FHS), and Henry (6th grade at FMS).  I tend to talk about them a lot!  We love how quickly Colorado has become home, with so much to see, do, and eat (I LOVE to go out to eat.)   I enjoy going on vacation (ocean please!), going to Target (my happy place), buying new shoes, reading, talking with my mom and best friend on the phone, and trying new recipes for supper. We also have a few family favorite shows we like to snuggle up on the couch and watch together.

I am looking forward to a year filled with laughter, fun, and learning!
