Degrees and Certifications:

Michael Holland

I am Michael Holland.  I teach Computer Science subjects Intro to Coding (using Skylark), Coding I and Coding II.  These are designed to teach coding concepts with the Python programming language.

I sponsor an after-school club to explore Cybersecurity and participate in competitions that give our students real-world experience.

I received my BS in Business with two majors - Business Management and Computer Information Systems - from Emporia State University in 1995.  I worked in Kansas City as a programmer and in management for 23 years.  I took a few years off before being a substitute teacher in D49 before becoming a teacher.  I am excited to help roll out this curriculum for the State of Colorado and our district.  I bring real world experience into our classroom as I help my students explore options and prepare them for the high school coding classes that could lead to certification.

I have four daughters that I raised in the Kansas City area.  I have one grandson and I am looking forward to more grandchildren.  My wife and I live in Falcon. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our family and friends.

I look forward to meeting you, or seeing you again, and being a part of your journey!  Please reach out if you have any questions!
