Welcome to the A-Team at Skyview Middle School.  My name is Angel Barrientos, and I teach 6th grade English / Language Arts on the 6A-Team.  I have been at Skyview Middle School since 2014.  I was raised in Panama City, Florida, and earned my first degree from Florida State University in 1990.  I have taught elementary through college classes in Panama City, FL; Okinawa, Japan; West Lafayette, IN; Charlottesville, VA; Warrensburg, MO; Sedalia, MO; and Colorado Springs, CO.  I have been married since 2000, and have three precarious children.  My oldest is a Senior at Colorado School of Mines, my middle is a Junior at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and my youngest graduated from Vista Ridge High School in May and is currently determining her school/career path.  Each is focused on "finding their place in the world".

I am happy to have your child in my class.  We will work on improving our language arts skills by reading various genres, writing about what we are reading, increasing our vocabulary, and writing essays.  We will also learn about the world through the characters and their experiences in "self-selected" books.  Finally, students will learn how to work hard, advocate for themselves, and be kind to everyone regardless of their similarities or differences.  I strongly believe there is a book for EVERYONE and EVERYONE has amazing ideas and talents to share with others.
