Mrs. Brooke Gumucio

Hello, my name is Brooke Gumucio. I am absolutely thrilled to be teaching Art at Springs Ranch Elementary School! I have been an elementary school teacher in District 49 since 2006. I've been teaching Art at Springs Ranch for six years. Before that, I was a second grade teacher for four years and a fourth grade teacher for three years. It is a dream come true to bring my passion and experience in the Arts to the classroom and share it with young, creative students!

I am a native of Colorado Springs. I live here with my husband Mike and our daughter Olivia. I am so fortunate to have my daughter attend the same school that I teach. Being a teacher is a life-long journey and I am very grateful to be a part of such an amazing school. I look forward to providing a quality Art Education to all my students!

This year we will be learning about all the important Art elements and concepts in all grades Kindergarten through fifth: line, color, shape and form, pattern, texture, space, and composition. We will also incorporate the Visual Arts Standards outlined in the Colorado State Standards in our lessons. Students will learn about a variety of famous artists and historical Artistic movements. Your child will get a chance to work with a broad range of media including (but not limited to): markers, tempera and watercolor paints, clay, collage, and oil pastels. We will also get an opportunity to reflect on and critique our own classroom projects.

If you would like to volunteer at sometime throughout the year please feel free to come in, call, or send me an email. We would very much appreciate your time and efforts!
