Hello IVES community!

 

I am so excited to be teaching and working with my first grade students and their families. This school year is my first year teaching and I am so thrilled to bring my new energy to my classroom. 

 

I just graduated from CU Boulder where I majored in Elementary Education with a CLD endorsement. I got the opportunity to work closely with kindergarten and first grade classrooms as well as teaching a transitioning kinder to first grade summer school program in Longmont, CO. I am so excited to teach my first real classroom and form connections with you all. 

 

I have lived in Colorado Springs from 6th grade through high school and I am so excited to be back! I lived closer to the District 12 location so it will be fun to live in and explore the more northern area which I am more unfamiliar with. I enjoy traveling and trying new restaurants with my friends and family. 

 

I believe teaching first grade is such a rewarding age group where you really start to see foundational growth in reading and mathematics. Students of this age really need that emotional support and guidance in building their confidence and character through their enthusiasm to learn. I hope to make a difference in each of my students' academic journeys in the best way possible. One very important step in this growth is involving family and other supports at home.
