Hola! I'm Mr. Abbott. With a passion for language and a love for teaching, I bring a unique blend of cultural heritage and academic expertise to our classroom.

I'm from a vibrant Cuban-American family. I was raised in the heart of Georgia, where I developed a deep appreciation for both Southern hospitality and my rich cultural roots. Like most students today, I didn't grow up speaking Spanish. I've had to acquire it through classroom instruction, and of course outside in the real world. 

I embarked on my teaching journey in 2017, after completing my education at Valdosta State University, where I majored in Spanish Language and Culture. Since then, I have been dedicated to sharing my knowledge and passion for the Spanish language with students of all backgrounds and abilities. My goal is not only to teach the vocabulary necessary for daily survival in the language, but also to foster an appreciation for Hispanic culture and traditions.

Outside of the classroom, you can often find me exploring the great outdoors. Hiking through Colorado's picturesque trails allows me to recharge and find inspiration, all while staying connected to the natural beauty that surrounds us. My son also keeps me active, and running around daily. 

I am thrilled to be a part of the vibrant community here at Horizon, where I look forward to guiding and inspiring my students on their journey to becoming fluent Spanish speakers and global citizens. ¡Vamos a aprender juntos!
