Mrs. Amanda Ancheta
Hello! Welcome to 5th Grade at Woodmen Hills Elementary!
This is my tenth year teaching at WHES, but I have spent the last 19 years in and out of the halls of this wonderful school! I was a very involved PTA parent while my daughters attended WHES and here is where I decided to go back to school to get my teaching degree in Elementary Education and begin a new career. I did my pre-clinical experience at the 3rd and 4th grade level and student taught in 2nd grade here at WHES. I love this school, community, district, and I am invested here as a parent, resident and employee. I am the leader of the Tornado Leadership Council (TLC) here at WHES where we focus on leading by example and building relationships with students, staff, and the community.
A little about me…I have three wonderful daughters that are all alumni of WHES! All three are successfully making their way after their time in the Falcon Zone as a Registered Nurse, Mechanical Engineer, and aspiring animator/storyboard artist. My husband of 29 years is former Army and a long time engineer with Boeing. As a family, we enjoy hiking, camping, and spending time with friends. The majority of our family is in California and Tennessee, so on school breaks we are usually spending time outside of Colorado.
I am excited to have the opportunity to spend the year with your child and take part in the ways they will learn and grow as students and individuals.
