Hello, my name is Mr. Blehm and I teach Science here at Vista Ridge. This is my first year teaching and I'm so glad I chose to start here. The staff are incredibly helpful and always doing everything they can to make my life easier and help me become a better teacher.

 

My path to becoming a teacher is a slightly odd one. I completed my Bachelor's degree at CU Boulder in Chemical and Biological Engineering, and afterwards had the privilege of making it into a PhD program at the University of Utah for Neural Engineering. After working there for a year, I couldn't find the motivation to show up to the lab everyday and decided it wasn't the right path for me. I spent several years going through many stages of life and applying for engineering jobs, intensively studying Japanese, working as a substitute in D20, traveling through Vietnam, teaching English in Korea, and finally coming here to Vista Ridge.

 

I've learned a lot about myself and finally found my passion in teaching. Every day with my students is so exciting, showing them the fun and fascinating aspects of science, sharing stories, and guiding them towards becoming fantastic adults. It's my goal to have every single one of them leave at the end of the year having learned something new about themselves and how they can change to better reach their own goals.
