COLONEL WILLIAM C. BREEDLOVE
Colonel Breedlove’s last active duty position was the Division Chief for Aeromedical Evacuation and Medical Readiness at Headquarters Air Mobility Command (AMC), Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. In this capacity, he was responsible to the AMC Command Surgeon for developing deployable personnel and equipment capabilities for Department of Defense en route patient care and managing deployment taskings for 11 medical treatment facilities across the United States. He oversaw four branches with 53 active duty, civilian and contract staff. The division executed the Patient Movement Items program for US Transportation Command, maintaining 48K equipment pieces and 75K supply items worth $292M at eight global centers. The division was also responsible for medical readiness training of AMC’s 3K active duty medical staff as well as curriculum and scheduling oversight for the En Route Patient Staging Course in San Antonio, Texas. Finally, the division oversaw deployment and readiness reporting of $324M in War Reserve Materiel and orchestrated medical participants and objectives for at least three major exercises annually.
Colonel Breedlove is a 1998 graduate of Tulane University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and was commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). He held staff and leadership positions in medical logistics, resource management, medical readiness, and group practice management. He commanded two squadrons over five years and was deputy group commander twice. Colonel Breedlove deployed to Afghanistan as a Medical Embedded Team Trainer for the Afghan National Army in 2007. He also deployed as the lead medical planner for the Air Forces Central Command forward surgeon in 2013.
