As a Colorado Springs native, I enjoy experiencing all that Colorado has to offer, from fishing, hiking, snowboarding, camping, and the great concert venues. After graduating from Doherty High School, I studied at Colorado State University and earned my B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Art Education in 2001. It was during this time I worked and studied for a couple of summers at Italart in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy. I began teaching at Sand Creek High School in the 2001/2002 school year and joined the cadre to help open Vista Ridge High School in 2008. I earned my M.A.T. (Masters of Arts in Teaching) from Colorado College in 2010 while meeting my wife that same year. We married in 2013 and now have two adventurous little boys, Cooper (born 2015) and Carson (born 2019). Time once used for drawing, printmaking, and creating random objects/designs, now consists of playtime with my beautiful family and making messes with my kids.
