My name is Megan Brockriede and I joined the wonderful Vista Ridge High School fine arts department for the 2023-24 school year. I have been teaching a wide range of visual arts courses and grade levels (though mostly high school) in Colorado Springs since 2004. I earned my BA in art and art education from Adams State University in 2004, and my MA in art education from University of Northern Colorado in 2012.

 

In addition to creating artwork, I enjoy running, hiking, gardening, cooking, and home improvement projects. I live with my spouse, two children, dog, and two cats in Falcon. I am an active member of the Colorado Art Education Association, and you might see me working occasionally at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Art education has always been central to my life and has greatly shaped the person I am today. The arts teach us how to collaborate, problem-solve, accept feedback, research, plan, reflect, manage time, and how to work consistently to create something amazing. I strive to give my students opportunities to express themselves and create meaningful work.
